Meeting of the Federation By-Laws, and Policy & Procedures Committee


On Saturday September 18, 2010, the Federation By-Laws, and Policy & Procedures Committee met in Fredericton.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the policy on ATV Trail permit. Members present were: Al Gallop (Chair), Daniel Boucher, Marc Haché and Jacques Poirier.

Federation Participation to Safety Day


On September 16, 2010, Federation President Daniel Boucher and General Manager Jacques Poirier participated in a Progressive Agriculture Safety Day in Florenceville. The day was organized by Work Safe NB, Potatoes NB and the Northern Carleton Civic Center.

This Safety Day was held for the forth in a row and offered to approximately 350 children in the Northwest region of the province.

Progressive Agriculture Safety DaysTM are conducted in the United States, Canada and the U.S. territories. The mission of these Safety Days is simple - to make farm and ranch life safer and healthier for all children through education and training.

Federation representatives provided information on ATV Safety Riders courses and other Federation programs. Representatives from the following organizations also provided information: Forest Rangers from the Department of Natural Resources, the RCMP, local Fire Protection, Potatoes NB, and WorkSafe NB.

Federation President Daniel Boucher was recognized for his participation during the past four years.

Meeting with Grand Falls Town Council


On September 13, 2010, Federation President Daniel Boucher, Trail Coordinator Ben Cyr and Robert (Bob) Levesque, President of Mad-Vic ATV Association met in Grand Falls the Town Council.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss ATV access to the Grand Falls abandoned rail line bridge. This is the only way to cross the Saint John River and join ATV trails. Federation representatives stressed the potential economic impact of the ATV activities and the importance for Grand Falls to be part of the Provincial ATV Trail Network. The Town Council was receptive to the idea of allowing ATV to use the bridge. The local ATV club will provide more information on their proposed route of both side of the Saint John River.

Meeting of the Provincial Trail Steering Committee


On September 8, 2010, Federation President Daniel Boucher and General Manager Jacques Poirier attended a meeting in Fredericton of the Provincial Trail Steering Committee.

The purpose of the meeting was to report on progress with the Provincial Trail Strategy under development by the Trail Working Group Committee, on which our President and General Manager are members.

The concept of managed trails was also discussed.
